Empowering Veterans: The Transformative Journey of Eagle Metalcraft

Empowering Veterans

In the heart of America’s manufacturing landscape, Eagle Metalcraft’s story is about resilience, growth, and unwavering dedication. This video highlights the successful acquisition of the precision sheet metal company by owner Michael Bower, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

According to Misty Fox, Director of Entrepreneurship and Small Business at Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF), the Community Navigator Pilot Program connects veterans like Michael with legal, financial, and educational resources. Driven by this support and the expertise of trusted allies like Bowers CPAs & Advisors, Michael fulfilled his dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Watch the above video showcasing how the former Marine navigated the complexities of entrepreneurship with a spirit reminiscent of his military training: adaptability, resilience, and a commitment to serving his community.

Journey to Success

Michael’s journey began with a vision – to ensure manufacturing thrives in the US while providing employment opportunities and giving back to his community. Recognizing the need for support, he turned to IVMF’s Community Navigator Pilot Program. There he found a network of experts ready to guide him through the challenges ahead.

Barb Carson, Managing Director of Programs and Services at IVMF, emphasized Michael’s determination to secure support to realize his vision. With guidance from SCORE mentors, Small Business Development Centers, and Bowers CPAs & Advisors, Michael acquired the tools needed to succeed in his acquisition journey.

Carl Austin, Co-Managing Partner at Bowers CPAs & Advisors, highlighted the comprehensive support provided to Michael and Eagle Metalcraft, from acquisition and financing to entity selection and tax work. Bowers’ partnership with Michael didn’t stop at professional services; it extended to ensuring the company’s financial stability during crucial moments.

Carl said his relationship with IVMF and personally with Eagle Metalcraft “has been one of the most satisfying of my career, to be able to help a veteran.”

For Michael, the support had a profound impact. It enabled Eagle Metalcraft to weather the challenges of an acquisition while thriving and expanding its workforce.

“The help is really what changed our ability to add jobs,” Michael said. “We’ve been able to go through this growth and this opportunity spectrum that would not have been without IVMF and the entire program.”

Michael extends his gratitude to Carl Austin and Bowers CPAs & Advisors, whose expertise played a pivotal role in the company’s success.

“Their expertise played a crucial role in the acquisition of Eagle Metalcraft and continues to shape our path forward with top-notch tax and financial guidance,” Michael said.
